So perhaps that little outburst yesterday against the word diet was a tad wierd. I apologise. Probably lack of chocolate. As you can see, the first definition is what I will be mostly referring to.

And it's still going okay.

27 October 2003

It's gone okay today. This is what I've eaten:-

Breakfast
Two slices of toast thinly spread with half fat Flora and tons of Marmite
Lunch
One ham and lettuce sandwich with half fat mayo and no butter, cherry tomatoes, Minibabybel, two apples, banana, Go Ahead choccy bar.
Dinner
Two cheese, spring onion and chive crispbakes, tons of green beans and cauliflower, low fat Mullerice.
Snack
Big lettuce, carrot and red cabbage salad with low fat dressing.
Drinks
Four teas with sweetener and skimmed milk, robinsons peach fruit and barley, one Options hot chocolate.

As you can see, there is definite room for improvement but I've managed to get through today without snacking badly which will be the first hurdle. If I can keep that up for a week then I'll be happy. Once I've done that I'll start removing some of the more unhealthy foods from my everyday meals.

My basic tactics are to eventually eat like a gorilla (I was watching Animal Planet earlier.) That means I'm going to eat so many veggies that there will be no space for anything else.

Also, I've had to edit the comments posted in the blog post below. I'm trying to convince myself that I'm not dieting (last time I'm using that word for a while...) but eating healthily. The thing that has become apparent to me is that once I have lost the weight I still have to watch what I eat because I've put on over two stone in the space of eighteen months.

Here Goes Nothing

Well, hopefully I've flicked the right switch in my head and the first stage of my health kick will be underway tomorrow.

I'm going to lose some weight through healthy eating to start with. I am currently dead on 15 stone and that is a bit much. At my lightest, I was recorded at 12 stone and 9 pounds and was possibly a bit lighter so I am going to aim for that.

At my heaviest, I was about 19 stone. This was right after Glastonbury 2000. I saw a few photos of me and though "Oops, I really am a right fat bloater!" I have a feeling that I am on my way there right now so I have to do something about it. For those of you who know what it is like, I have got to the stage where my clothes aren't fitting right any more and if I get much bigger I am going to have to get a whole new wardrobe. Trust me, it is only nice to get a new wardrobe when you are heading to OTHER way...

There Will Be a Reckoning

Yes, the day is coming.

The all powerful blog will be my shining weapon of willpower and virtue as I commence my titanic battle against being soft around the edges. Watch in amazement as I start exercising. Go slack jawed as I give up smoking....

But the day is not here yet. There are plans to lay and preparations that need to be finished like making this site look cool as and many beers in the fridge to devour to thwart temptation.

It is coming. Stay tuned dear listener...
